B.TECH - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The J.K.K. Munirajah college of Technology has introduced the 4 years B.Tech course in (IT). In the year of 2008. The course was approved by AICTE and affiliated by ANNA University at Chennai. The department houses are well - furnished software lab with sufficient lab with sufficient power backup and computing facilities.

The B.Tech (IT) refers to Management and use of Information using computer based tools. The terms include both hardware & software.

The department has been offering excellent infra structural facilities with variety of computing platforms. To transform the students into Innovative, component and high quality IT professionals to meet the growing global changes. The department has modern aids such as scanner, Inkjet printer, dot matrix printer, LCT, OHP & Internet facilities for the benefit of the students.

Mission

i. Learn the advancement of computer science, computer engineering, information technology and cyber security through internationally recognized research and education, as well as technology transfer.

iii. Educate students in the best practices of the field as well as integrate the latest research into the curriculum.

iv. Foster the development of problem solving and communication skills as an integral component of the profession.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs):

PEO1: To Educate and train students in professional career by acquiring knowledge in scientific, mathematics and computing and engineering principles.

PEO2: Apply Analysis, Design, Optimization and Implementation skills in order to formulate and solve Computer Science, Engineering and Multidisciplinary problems.

PEO3: Use their skills in ethical & professional manner to raise the satisfaction level of stakeholders and to take up higher studies, research & development and other creative efforts in science & technology.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs):

PSO1: PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT: Ability to apply mathematical methodologies to solve computation task, model real world problem using appropriate data structure and suitable algorithm.

PSO2: DESIGN THINKING: Ability to use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps and solve complex problems, using latest hardware and software tools, along with analytical skills to arrive cost effective and appropriate solutions.
