The Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 2010. The department offers four years B. E -Mechanical Engineering. The department has a team of highly qualified, dedicated and motivated faculty and well equipped laboratories with facilities for UG and PG Degrees has been Approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The goal of the mechanical engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, and engineering science. Principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & Computer Aided Design (CAD) and others.
The department of Mechanical Engineering in committed to excellence in academics by providing students ample opportunities for knowledge acquisition and application enabling them to changing global needs.
To achieve excellence in the academic delivery and curriculum planning pertaining to mechanical engineering by adding value based software and hardware addendums to the core subjects.
A pass in a recognised Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.
